HELLO and Happy Deepavali to fellow Carnatic music lovers the world over!
It’s been a long while, we know, but we hope what we’ve come up with has been well worth the wait…
Introducing Talanome 7.0, the latest version of this all-around powerhouse of a Carnatic metronome!
With an array of new features designed to further complement and enhance previous improvements, Carnatic musicians and classical dancers can expect to further master their timeless Arts with Talanome 7.0 right by their side to assist as they march/dance/sing/revel to the beat of their own drum/mridangam/ghatam/thavil!
Exciting new features include:
- A vastly improved interface that allows the user the ability to fully control the Audio Visualizer to display any given talam’s total count, its sub-division count or no count at all! Switching between these visual aids is seamless as well—simply double-tap the Audio Visualizer itself to get to the desired display!
- More ancient talams have been experiencing a resurgence of late in an effort to get back to the fundamental roots of Carnatic music. In that vein, Talanome 7.0 now includes ALL 108 Ashtottara Sata Talas in the Make your Own Talam section (previous versions only included the Simhanandana Tala)!
- Along with the 108 Ashtottara Sata Talas, the seven tala phrases (building blocks) unique to the Ashtottara Sata—Guru, Plutam, Laghu, Laghu-Margi, Dhruta, Anudhruta and Kakapada—are now available to you, too! When combined with the six programmable tala phrase buttons, you can create endless talas of your own in the Make Your Own Talam section…happy composing!!
- The Audio Visualizer and the Make Your Own Talam sections have been drastically improved to give you absolute control to specifically instruct Talanome to use Leading Sounds, Trailing Sounds and Silent Notes to create customized groupings for your customized talams!
- A major benefit of Talanome is its ability to recreate any talam! When we came across an ingenious korvai for a Fibonacci talam created by Sri B.C. Manjunath on social media, we thought it would be fun to recreate it with Make Your Own Talam for his benefit and others like him who happen to be BOTH Carnatic music aficionados AND math geeks, a combo that is quite common, interestingly enough!
- The Talanome Help section has been completely revamped to include COMPREHENSIVE information that thoroughly explains EVERY major feature of Talanome! This, in conjunction with tutorial videos (more to come, stay tuned!) will be indispensable as you navigate the many features in Talanome 7.0 designed to help you master your musical prowess!
- Both Talanome 7.0 AND Talanome Lite have been updated with the latest Xcode, bringing them up to date with the latest iOS versions!
PLEASE upgrade your Talanome app to the latest version TODAY to avail of all these improvements for FREE!
And for those of you still on the fence about making the full version of Talanome 7.0 an integral part of your music experience/practice, please download and try Talanome Lite which has also been updated with new features!
We’d like to end this post with a heartfelt thank you to all our users—as we continue to fine tune (ha!) Talanome for you, please know that your ongoing support and loyalty are thoroughly appreciated and much needed as we thrive to make Talanome the quintessential accompaniment for all your artistic needs.
Not only do we want to differentiate ourselves as the definitive metronomic aid on the market for the Carnatic community BUT we also have a long-term mission as well, which is to help serve as an educational resource. With all this in mind, we encourage you to provide feedback — we’d truly appreciate it you would take a moment to post reviews about Talanome in the Apple App Store if you haven’t already done so! Also, please feel free to write to us—support@upbeatlabs.com—with any suggestions, comments and/or questions you may have to help us in our pursuit to perfect Talanome for you!
Wishing you and yours a year filled with radiant happiness, superb health, sufficient wealth and abundant prosperity…Happy Deepavali! 🎆😊
